A dental practice accepting CDBS does not necessarily bulk bill every appointment or every treatment. Before booking, ask how the proposed services will be billed and whether your child has enough available benefit for them.
What does bulk billing mean here?
For a bulk-billed CDBS service, the provider accepts the Medicare benefit as full payment for that service. Other billing arrangements can require payment and a subsequent claim. Services Australia's claiming guidance explains the distinction.
That does not mean all dental services become free. Eligibility, covered items, item restrictions and the child's remaining benefit still matter. Ask about any treatment that falls outside the proposed bulk-billed services before consenting.

Decisions should follow the child's clinical needs and your informed consent. A benefit balance is not a reason to undertake unnecessary treatment or rush care before a calendar deadline.
